Navigating Difficult Chat Data in Response to a DSAR Request

PLUSnxt was approached by a corporate client facing challenges with a notoriously complex dataset involving excess “noise” in chat messaging data.  The client required a solution that would streamline the review process while addressing the specific needs of their data-heavy workflows.

Initial Challenges (1:01 – 2:30)

The primary issue revolved around chat data cluttered with "noise," such as system-generated messages about users joining or leaving conversations.  This made it difficult to isolate relevant content.  Additionally, the client needed rapid and accurate responses for Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR), which demanded fast turnaround times.

Solutions Implemented (2:31 – 5:30)

PLUSnxt developed a custom solution/template, starting with a proprietary application to clean and format the chat data to the clients preferred export format.  This scrubbed the unnecessary"noise," allowing the client directly to review the relevant information without having to sift through the clutter.  Once integrated into Relativity, the workflows were further optimized through customized templates, automated redactions forPII, and tailored coding layouts.

Through collaboration between PLUS and the client, we successfully streamlined workflows to accelerate DSAR reviews. This effort also enabled anyone on the data ops team to manage the data and project with ease. By remaining flexible and understanding the client’s unique needs, we developed an effective solution and then standardized the process to ensure long-term efficiency and scalability.
