James Beddome, Senior Project Analyst

James’ nature is to find solutions and like most veterans in the industry he first started out working in paper discovery doing the scanning, copy work, and imaging. As technology developed, James found himself involved with the innovative and intimidating scan to file system which ultimately led James to move into more back office technical work. This move allowed him a chance to work with the Relativity software during the early days in 2008. From then James thrived working within database administration, finding his way to PLUSnxt as our Senior Project Analyst.

What led you to PLUSnxt?

I knew someone that worked here, and I saw PLUS as an opportunity to build something from the ground up the way we wanted operations to be, the way it should be done. From a technical standpoint we wanted to lay the foundation for proper standards so that the company and operations was built correctly from the beginning.

What is your role within PLUSnxt?

My role is in the technical backend of what we do. I work on the basic processing, running document productions, custom data customization, etc. Together in ops we also work on setting the standards we want to use going forward and Project Tracker was one of those. That was a project I was a part of early on and now we are starting to see how that app gets implemented into our operation.

A big focus for us right now is how we standardize mobile data. We are focused on standardizing the forensic export so that there can be more transparency between us and our clients and to make it easier for them to review within the Relativity environment.

Where do you see PLUSnxt going?

I want us to be able to train and teach our clients how to use all the tools at their disposal. Active Learning is an example of this. Everyone should be utilizing Active Learning, which is Relativity’s assisted review technology and yet no one is. It should be the default way of doing things at this point, so we are starting to implement this into our practice. We are teaching our clients that these tools exist and showing them how they can be utilized.

What is your ideal relationship with clients?

I am client facing while training them within our Accelerator program which I believe to be beneficial to our team and the client. Training them in how to properly use the tools to best benefit themselves is huge.

Ideally, I would love to have a relationship with clients where they feel comfortable enough to tell their needs and let us know exactly what they are looking for. We can then deliver from a technical standpoint and thrive together.

What do you do for fun? What is something people couldn’t learn about you from your LinkedIn profile?

I am an outdoors guy, I like hiking, camping, hunting, fishing. I also enjoy taking trips with my wife and exploring with new places.
